Ken Burton conducts Songs Of Praise Favourite Hymns

Ken Burton conducts the UK's Favourite Hymns, a Songs Of Praise special, broadcasting on BBC1 on Sunday September 29th, BBC1, 1.15 pm. As well as conducting, Ken arranged all music for the live congregation and orchestra, and did the total production for songs performed by Daniel O Donnell, and Eddi Reader.  The Kingdom Choir, famed for singing at the Royal Wedding in 2018, will sing an arrangement of his, filmed on the Isle Of Wight.

Earlier in the year, as part of the 2019 BBC 'Year Of Belief', two special programmes were commissioned by BBC1. BBC Songs Of Praise, produced by Avanti Media and Nine Lives Media, filmed two special programmes in Jerusalem.

Ken Burton was tasked with putting together a choir of 12 singers, drawn from across the UK, to perform the hymns for the two programmes. Six of the choir members, along with Burton, were part of a feature programme, where they were taken to different sites on a quasi 'pilgrimage'.
Also part of the programme were the West End's Shaun Escoffery, recording artist known for her connection with England Rugby Laura Wright, and the  programme presenter Aled Jones, who performed with the choir.

Ken Burton's role was multi-faceted: arranger, director, creating all instrumental soundtracks, vocal production, as well as performing as a singer with the group.

Ken Burton goes to Hollywood

Ken Burton is no stranger to the screen, having clocked up hundreds of hours on television programmes internationally. More recently, he has been involved with the 'big' screen, as a choral contractor and director.
His name appeared in the credits as 'choirmaster' on Marvel's Black Panther  which won an Oscar for best soundtrack, a Grammy for best soundtrack, and in other categories over two hundred other awards, including other Oscar awards.
Following the success of this, Burton has become an in-demand choral director for other films.
The latest films he has worked on, as a choral conductor, are Ugly Dolls due to be released in May 2019 and Jingle Jangle, a massive production for Netflix, due for 2020 release. Animated movie  Ugly Dolls explores the whole area of self-worth, whilst  Jingle Jangle, starring Forest Whittaker, and music produced by John Legend, is about an inventor.

Black Panther Movie (Marvel) Soundtrack

In November and December 2017 Ken put together a forty-piece choir to record as part of the soundtrack of the Marvel Films Black Panther release. The score was composed by Ludwig Göransson, and was recorded at London's Abbey Road Studios.
