Oct 2007 - Ken Burton is presented to the Queen for the fifth time
Ken Burton was presented to Her Majesty the Queen following a Royal Gala performance to commemorate the reopening of the Royal Festival Hall, of which Her Majesty is patron. Co-conducting alongside Harry Christophers, Burton directed both the Croydon SDA Gospel Choir and London Adventist Chorale in RCG Willian's reworking of Henry Purcell's Sound The Trumpet. Previous presentations to Her Majesty were: following two Commonwealth Day services at Westminster Abbey; on the podium outside Buckingham Palace on the night of Prom At The Palace (also present on the special podium were Michael Parkinson, Kiri Te Kanawa among others); in the same year as the Prom At The Palace Jubilee Concert, Burton was presented to Her Majesty at an interfaith celebration for an environment charity run by the Duke Of Edinburgh
